Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators
Region: Toronto Metro area Type: Part time
Location: Toronto Salary: $75,000 – $90,000

The Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) is the umbrella organization for all physiotherapy regulatory Colleges in Canada.  Its main function is to run the credentialling assessment program for internationally-educated physiotherapists, as well as to administer the physiotherapy licensing exam for anyone (either Canadian-trained or internationally-trained) who wishes to practice physiotherapy in Canada.  Passing the Physiotherapy Competency Exam is a condition of licensure in all Canadian jurisdictions with the exception of Quebec.  The Physiotherapy Competency Exam is comprised of a written component (multiple-choice, computer-based exam) and a clinical exam (a 16-station OSCE exam) – both of which need to be successfully passed to obtain an independent practice license in Canada.

The CAPR office is located in Toronto, Ontario and is an equal-opportunity employer offering competitive salary and benefits packages.

The Physiotherapist Advisor, Exam Delivery and Administration provides physiotherapist expertise in the delivery of the Physiotherapy Competency Exam, both the Written and Clinical Components.  This may include, but is not restricted to candidate file reviews, appeals, re-scoring of the exams, administrative reconsiderations, special needs requests and review of exam incidents. The position provides guidance with respect to the recruitment and training of both examiners and standardized clients.  The position works on exam program projects, creation of reports and other services upon request that require the expertise of a physiotherapist.  Reporting to the Manager, Exam Delivery and Administration, this position provides expertise to the Manager, Exam Development and team as well.  This is a part-time position which provides a physiotherapist with an exciting opportunity to contribute to the physiotherapy profession’s entry to practice standards. As a part-time position, it allows for a physiotherapist to maintain clinical skills in a practice setting.   The Physiotherapy Advisor, Exam and Administration position involves working days during Monday to Friday; however, occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
