SANTA FUND ASSISTANT – TEMPORARY CONTRACT

 

Position Type: Temporary Contract—Total of 84 Hours, Various Shifts including Saturdays

Expected Duration: December 1 – 22, 2017

Location: The Exchange, 55 Healy Road Unit 1, Bolton, ON

Agency Overview: Caledon Community Services (CCS) is a multi-service, community-impact organization and recognized leader in addressing health and care, transportation, employment, training, resettlement, business development and social service needs of individuals and families in the Town of Caledon and surrounding communities. CCS operates an integrated, client focused model of services that provides seamlessness between distinct programs, innovations in service delivery, significant volunteer leadership and myriad multi-sector partnerships and collaborations directed towards community building and meeting the needs of a growing Caledon Community.

 

Position Overview:   The Santa Fund program is a seasonal campaign which enables low income families in Caledon to receive food and toys for their children during the holiday period. The Santa Fund program also raises vital dollars to fund yearly ongoing supports for clients utilizing the Counselling & Care Coordination programs and services. The Santa Fund Assistant demonstrates the Agency’s core values by providing professional client-focused service performing an array of administrative functions that support the Santa Fund program and The Exchange’s daily holiday operations.

 

Summary of Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Manager, Community Animation, the incumbent:

    • Courteously and efficiently assists and/or directs visitors, callers, clients and donors in accordance with Exchange Reception protocols;
    • Oversees receiving and unloading of donations from the public and community stakeholders in fast paced warehouse environment;
    • Efficiently organizes inventory and related tracking systems, including stocking and restocking of goods and supplies as needed;
    • Completes setup and take down of temporary distribution areas;
    • Maintains ongoing contact with the Santa Fund team regarding donation stock available for distribution;
    • Packs goods and distributes to clients;
    • Ensures CCS-required donation documentation policies and procedures are complied with;
    • Strictly adherences to client confidentiality;
    • Assists with Exchange housekeeping duties and general maintenance;
    • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Qualifications:

  • High School diploma;
  • Experience working in an office environment in a customer service role;
  • Experience working in a fast paced warehouse environment;
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40lbs, bend, twist and stand for extended periods in warehouse environment;
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to adjust to changing warehouse temperatures;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a warehouse and/or with volunteers are considered strong assets
  • Familiarity with Caledon Community Services and the programs and services available.
  • Demonstrated telephone skills and ability to maintain professional demeanor;
  • Demonstrated ability to function well in a team-oriented work environment;
  • Clean Criminal Records Check.
