Permanent Part-time (10 hours per month)

Healthiest Babies Possible

(Surrey/White Rock/Delta)

 

Healthiest Babies Possible is a Pregnancy Outreach Program that provides individual counseling and group support for at-risk pregnant women. Our Lunch Groups offers education sessions, social time and a nutritious meal. Applicants who enjoy cooking and helping out in their community are encouraged to apply.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan menu in consultation with program staff and within specified budget
  • Shop for groceries
  • Prepare balanced meal for approximately 50 people
  • Serve meal, wash dishes/load dishwasher and clean kitchen

TIME COMMITMENT: Thursday 0900 – 1400, biweekly

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience

  • Food Safe certification is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and use of a personal vehicle for business purposes required.

    • Job Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to cook for a large group.
  • Good food preparation, budgeting and shopping skills.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Non judgmental, respectful, positive, supportive and empowering attitude.
  • Sensitivity to the financial, social, physical, cultural and personal barriers that women face in trying to achieve a healthy lifestyle.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Community kitchen experience is an asset
  • No relevant criminal record.
