Job Summary:


Reporting to the Associate Program Director, the Employment Advisor assists unemployed, or underemployed, individuals to obtain employment opportunities within the community by performing duties such as assisting clients to identify suitable job options, become job ready, locating prospective employers and facilitate employment placements.


Education, Training, and Experience

  • Two year diploma in Community Employment or Social Service Program
  • Recent, related experience of three years
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
  • Must have valid BC driver’s license and motor vehicle


Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients
  • Conflict Resolution Skills
  • Knowledge of local labour market
  • Leadership and motivational skills


Hours of Work:             up to36 hours per week
