The Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the operation of Eleanor’s House. The Coordinator must ensure that all services are effectively implemented according to the program model and philosophy, and that the program is effectively integrated within the BGCC continuum of services.  The Coordinator is responsible to ensure that accreditation standards are upheld within the program at all times. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Observing and providing full-time and part- time staff members with supervision feedback.
  • Providing written supervision and evaluation to full-time and part- time staff members through the agency performance engagement process.
  • Coordinating staff recruiting and termination when necessary.
  • Ensuring that a thorough and complete orientation is completed for all new staff members.
  • Providing support, direction and leadership in the development of new and innovative ideas with regards to residential programming.
  • Ensuring residential programming reflects a balanced, child focused, systemic approach that supports developmental assets and Trauma Informed Practice.
  • Working collaboratively and liaising with other professionals to promote Eleanor’s House. 
  • Ensuring the coordination of a weekly youth voice meeting, to planning activities and allowing youth an opportunity to address issues and concerns.
  • Ensuring program staff are providing appropriate individual/ group support for the youth’s needs.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with external agencies/ groups such as community associations, schools, law enforcement, and social service agencies
  • Participating in coordinator meetings and be available to other programs for consultation.
  • Degree or Diploma in the Human Service field 
  • Minimum of 5  years’ experience working with children, youth and families
  • Minimum of 2  years of experience in supervisory positions
  • Combination of Certificate and related experience may be considered
  • Experience in delivery of intervention programs, knowledge of CFS, and a broad knowledge of community resources and services is preferred.
  • Positive and effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving, organizing, planning and analytical skills
  • Supportive team player and team builder
  • Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR certification is  required
  • A current cleared child welfare record check and criminal record check with vulnerable sector search required
  • Class 5 license and acceptable driver’s abstract is required
Please Note: Successful candidates will complete criminal record check and child intervention record check at the time of new hire paperwork.  A criminal record check and child intervention record check dated within 6 months of the interview date will also be accepted.
