The Role:

  • Works as part of a team to operate the daily activities of the CLBC Service Centre and provide front-line information technology support and problem resolution services (tier 1 and escalation to tier 2) in a centralized multi-platform support environment.

  • Responsible for enabling/training users to use technology related resources in a multiple platform and multiple site environment.

  • The incumbent must ensure that technical issues and requests are dealt with in an effective and timely manner and that business process issues and requests are dealt with and well understood. 

  • As a key member of the IT Operations and Development work team, this position provides statistics, reporting and other information to the group on a regular basis, and liaises with Workplace Technology Services, MCFD and Solutions BC for issue resolution, general communications and coordination of service and support requests.

  • The ideal candidate is able to effectively work in this diverse, complex and dynamic environment where shifting priorities are common and expected.

  • Superior judgment, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities and excellent customer service are a must.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a Business related discipline plus one year related experience; OR a diploma plus two years related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

     

  • Knowledge of current and emerging hardware and software technologies including a basic understanding of the following: PARIS, HTML, ASP.net, Crystal Reports, user provisioning; systems development life cycle and front-line training approaches.
