Job Summary

St. John Council for Alberta is looking to fill the position of Sales / Business Development Coordinator, who, under the direction of the Vice President, Public Relations & Business Development, will primarily be responsible to always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner. This position will maintain a high level of product and service knowledge. This role will also liaise with the various departments to ensure awareness of the incentives and promotions being offered. The Sales / Business Development Coordinator must possess the following:

  • three years of related sales experience
  • degree or diploma in a business or sales related field
  • strong knowledge of sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth
  • Emphasize product or service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms or reports
  • Sell applicable courses and products to clients
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold-calling if necessary
  • Identify and solicit potential clientele

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to adapt to new technology
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Ability to travel and occasionally attend sales events or exhibits
  • Proven sales ability with capability to meet and surpass targets and goals
  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driving abstract
