Job Title - Programming Coordinator (Full Time)


Who we are: Youth Empowerment & Support Services (YESS) is a not-for-profit agency working with youth facing difficult realities.


Currently, we have a vacancy for a Programming Coordinator.


Job Description:  Reporting to the Armoury Resource Centre Supervisor, the Programming Coordinator will aim to create a welcoming and organized environment at the Armoury Resource Centre. In this role you will empower and support youth by collaborating with both internal staff and outside partners/agencies to facilitate programming in line with YESS’ core values at the Armoury Resource Centre (ARC)


Some duties included in this position, but not limited to are:


  • Run front reception desk area at the Armoury Resource Centre
  • Communicate and collaborate with outside partners and internal staff to schedule ongoing programming and services to address youths’ needs
  • Document and report all necessary client information and shift events according to Agency standards
  • Increase communication and awareness of programming and events for youth through regular announcements across different media. g. FLSMS texting software, YESS youth Facebook page, etc.
  • Attend and report at Agency meetings, department meetings, team meetings, and other Agency events as required
  • Developing and maintaining weekly calendar of available  activities and services



  • Diploma/Degree in Humanities field an asset (Social Work, Child and Youth Care, etc)
  • Two years’ experience in human services field; experience working with youth facing difficult realities preferred
  • CYCAA certification or other related certification will be considered an asset.


Other requirements:

  • Criminal Record check and child intervention record obtained less than six months ago
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
  • Knowledgeable and respectful of values, beliefs and practices of Aboriginal and other cultural/diverse groups.
  • Basic computer skills, First Aid Training, Suicide Intervention Training. Medication administration will be an asset.
  • Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds.


Salary:  Based on education and experience. Agency paid health benefits after six months of employment (for full time permanent only)


Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8am-4:30pm, occasional work on evenings and weekends as needed.

40hrs per week total, full-time position


Start Date: ASAP
