JOB CONTEXT

Oxfam in Jordan

Oxfam has been working in Jordan since the early 1990s. In 2013, Oxfam scaled up operations to respond to the Syrian refugee crisis, providing essential humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian households. Given the protracted nature of the crisis in Syria, Oxfam has re-oriented its programming in Jordan to promote more sustainable solutions to the needs of crisis-affected Syrians and Jordanians.

Today, Oxfam’s work in Jordan prioritizes three key areas which define our programs and policy influencing work: Emergency WASH & Water governance; Gender Justice and Economic Justice.

Access Innovation Program (PAI)

The PAI is funded by the Canadian Government through Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and is implemented by Oxfam-Québec in 11 countries. The central approach of the program is based on the assignment of Technical Advisors in countries of intervention, in which their mandates are to increase the technical, administrative and financial capabilities of local partner organizations. Support provided should enable partners to innovate and generate sustainable changes in their environments in terms of economic growth, food security, gender equality, good governance and environmental sustainability. PAI in Jordan works with 6 partners organizations.
