To assist with research projects on the topics of women’s health, gender and health, and sex and gender based analysis.



We are seeking a research assistant to join our investigators and research coordinators in achieving research and knowledge translation project objectives. Tasks such as arranging interviews, organizing virtual team meetings, contributing to data analysis, and collaborating on preparation and dissemination of reports and documents will be involved. Applicants will work virtually, are not required to work onsite at the Centre’s offices in Vancouver.


  • Organizes and participates in online research meetings to discuss and report on project(s) progress
  • Assists with data collection (e.g. interviews, focus groups, surveys), data entry and data analysis.
    • Works collaboratively with a distributed and multidisciplinary research team to support meeting the objectives of the research projects, and communicating progress on activities.
    • Assists with the development of project proposals and workplans



  • Minimum an Honour’s Bachelor’s Degree in public health, psychology, social work or related degree combined with a minimum of one year of relevant research experience. Master’s degree in a health field considered an asset.
  • Computer experience required (word processing, spreadsheets, bibliographic database e.g. Endnote).
  • Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Experience or interest in one of the following research areas: Women’s health, gender and health, trauma-informed approaches, substance use/addiction, sex/gender/diversity based analysis, health policies, programs and practice.
  • Experience with execution of research projects and with qualitative and quantitative research methodologies a strength.
  • Detail-oriented, able to take initiative and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting deadlines.
