                         Job Description:  Rescued and Restored Store Manager

                         Hours of work:     3 – 4 days a week (some weekend hours)

                         Location:              241 Freelton Road, Freelton, Ontario

                         Remuneration:      TBD

Overview:

The Rescued and Restored Store Manager is accountable for the management of the day to day operations of the store, and the leadership of those involved in the receiving and selling of the donated goods within the store.

Management Accountabilities:

Customer Service

Reliable and exceptional service to our customers

Financial

Cash management - security, deposits, and record accuracy

  • Authorizing all expenditures, co-signing cheques
  • Timely payment of invoices,
  • Variance analysis

Forecasts and Budget recommendations

Business Processes

  • Documentation of all store activities
  • Health and safety regulation
  • Opening, closing, and security of the facility.
  • Receiving, pricing, and selling donated goods.
  • Coordination of pick-ups with the transportation coordinator.
  • Inventory control
  • Store layout and merchandising
  • Track and report the store’s operations capacity, budgets and expenses
  • Sales/ cash record keeping, and bank deposit procedures

Leadership Accountabilities:

Eagle’s Nest

Advocate Store management imperatives as a member of the Rescued and Restored Operating Committee.

Identify opportunities and provide recommendations within Eagle’s Nest Strategic, Financial, and Business Planning activities

  • Sales and expenditure forecasts/budgets
  • New projects
  • Proposed modifications to current plans
  • Spearhead continuous improvement goals

Support, and make provision for, events and activities assigned to the store location such as Fundraising, Training, Public Relations, etc.

Staff on boarding and training

Volunteers

Hold all accountable to our Mission, Vision and Values

Assists Sales Clerk with On-boarding of new volunteers

Assists Staff to Coordinate, assign, schedule and train those engaged in store activities

Ensure effective training to achieve exceptional customer service, and individual and team competency

Ensures regular volunteer training to identify and respond to productivity, safety issues and process changes.

Supports Staff in providing an ongoing recognition of volunteers

Community

Represent the organization at public and/or fundraising events when requested.

Business Relationships

Conduct business effectively with

  • Governments
  • Suppliers
  • The property owner/manager

Qualifications

  • Secondary School Graduate
  • Business Degree or equivalency an asset
  • Proven experience in leadership, management, and a focus on results
  • Experience in selling household items in a store environment
  • Solid computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyze results and respond effectively and efficiently
  • Demonstrated ability and a passion to work in a faith based not for profit organization
  • Ability to manage a volunteer base workforce
  • Have a passion for Eagles Nest culture and policies
  • Willing to sign our Code of Conduct Polic
