About Autism Services 

This is an exciting time to be in Autism Services. The new Ontario Autism Program (OAP) was launched in 2017.   As the Lead Agency for Autism Services for the South East region of Ontario, we work with our two partner agencies in the provision of a variety of services. We provide Foundational and Behavioural Services including Family Support for families, and children and youth up to 18 years of age.

 

About You

We are seeking a Clinical Supervisor and looking for a candidate who is driven by a passion for the autism field and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and who enjoys working in an engaging and collaborative way, as part of a team of professionals.   Candidates should have a Masters’ degree in a relevant field, 5 years’ experience working with children with autism, be a BCBA or be working towards their BCBA.

 

About the Role

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for designing, delivering and supervising a wide range of ABA services to children with autism. This involves working closely with a local and regional team of Autism Services Therapists, Clinical Supervisors, Family Support Coordinators, Managers, other professionals and the Clinical Director of Autism Services.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Ensuring optimum, evidence based ABA assessment and intervention is provided for each child.
  • Providing clinical supervision to staff providing ABA based services in Kingston.  
  • Supervise Autism Services Therapists and Program Leads, in the delivery of Behavioural Services including intensive early intervention, individual and group programming.
  • Develop, monitor and review and approve Behaviour Plans and Programs.
  • Collaborate in the Family Service Planning process with the clinical and family team.
  • Work closely with Regional clinicians and staff in the design and delivery of regional services.
  • As a member of the clinical team, contribute to regional Foundational Services.
  • Attend provincial workgroups as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supervising a team of Instructor Therapists (ITs) in the delivery of IBI.
  • Supervising individual staff in their day to day work.
  • Conducting supervision meetings and performance appraisals.
  • Establishing, monitoring, reviewing IBI programs for children in the IBI Program.
  • Reviewing and adjusting each child’s curriculum as needed.
  • Working closely with Psychology staff, Community Counsellors, regional colleagues and community partners.
  • Collaborating in the admission, transition, discharge and case planning processes for each child and in the provision of support to families.
  • Participating as a member of the Pathways’ Autism Management team.
  • Reporting directly to the Clinical Director of Autism Services.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant area: e.g. MA Psychology, MADS. BCBA and/or working towards BCBA; or equivalent education and experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in providing ABA services to children with autism and their families, preferably at a supervisory level;
  • Valid Province of Ontario driver’s license as well as automobile insurance with a minimum liability of one million dollars for business purposes.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment health assessment;
  • Candidates Bilingual in English and French will be given special consideration.
