Since 1928, Family Services of Greater Vancouver has been creating brighter tomorrows for people and families in our community. Last year we supported more than 13,000 people to create possibilities for themselves through professional counselling, therapy, education, advocacy, planning, employment support, and other community services.
Our Project Parent program works with parents to help them develop and strengthen the skills required to meet their children’s physical, emotional, and developmental needs. Project Parent focuses on providing parent education, modeling and coaching of parenting techniques, counselling, support, advocacy, and links to community resources.
Position Profile/Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Specialized Family Supports, the Program Manager – Project Parent Fraser South is responsible for:
- Leading a team of high functioning clinical cousellors including recruitment, on-boarding, training, performance development, professional development, and supervision;
- Providing overall program management and supervision with respect to service provision;
- Managing staff expense, mileage, payroll and vacation approvals, within the designated budget;
- Ensuring outstanding service delivery in accordance with best practices, accreditation standards, and contract deliverables, including preparation of quarterly program reports.

Job Specific Knowledge/Skills
- Strong clinical ability and judgment
- Superior clinical supervision skills
- Aptitude for budget management and performance management
- Substantial knowledge regarding mental health, substance abuse, and critical incident response
- Knowledge of legal requirements regarding mandatory reporting and duty to warn
- Knowledge of resources in the community pertaining to critical issues facing clients
- Proficiency in program and project management, team leadership and communication
- Ability to think strategically and to proactively develop solutions to problems
Education / Credentials/Experience
- Masters degree in social work, counselling, psychology, or related discipline
- Membership in a professional registered organization
- 3-5 years clinical supervisory experience
- 2 years operations management experience including responsibility for budget preferred

Salary/Pay Grade: $2,135.08/bi-weekly (MGR 1, Step 1) with competitive benefits package
