Recycling Program

Machine Operator

Full –Time 40 Hours/Week

 

POSITION OR TITLE:                   Machine Operator

REPORTING TO:                          Plant Supervisor, Production Manager

GENERAL DUTIES:                       Maintain product flow in plant

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate machinery in a safe manner, following rules and guidelines set out by Work Safe BC and recommended by the manufacturer
  • Assist baler operator
  • Complete pre-shift inspection of machinery and report any irregularities to plant supervisor
  • Keep floor space free from product and/or residue
  • Empty product bunkers
  • Load incline belts
  • Assist in daily cleanup
  • Report any irregularities or production concerns to plant supervisor
  • Keep production records
  • Perform basic trouble shooting on equipment
  • Perform all duties in an efficient manner
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Must be willing to work all shifts and/or varying hours
  • Willing to attend training seminars, if approached to do so

 

RELEVANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have satisfactory fitness assessment, and be able to work in a dusty environment
  • Capable of repetitive tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs/30 kgs
  • Able to work independently; self- motivated
  • Completion of skid steer training and previous experience operating machinery
  • Lift truck experience and/or certification
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
