Job Summary


Park Lawn Preschool Inc. operates three non-profit child care centres located in the Park Lawn - Queensway area in Etobicoke. We are currently seeking Registered Early Childhood Educators to join our Supply Team.


Our Centres:


Humber Bay Child Care Centre: 50 Cloverhill Road, Etobicoke

PLP Early Learning Centre at St. Mark: 45 Cloverhill Road, Etobicoke

Parklawn Preschool: 71 Ballcaine Drive, Etobicoke


Hours : Supply Hours vary and are intermittent

Shifts range from Full Time, Part Time and split shifts

Successful candidate should be available between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm, Monday - Friday


*Rate of Pay: RECE - $22.39/hour

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Following an Emergent/Inquiry based curriculum model, the incumbent will be required to plan and implement age appropriate programs that stimulate and enriches children’s development for children ages 18 months – 10 years of age.
  • Document children's every day learning and experiences.
  • Work in accordance with the policies and guidelines set out in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, Toronto Public Health, and Toronto Children’s Services Assessment for Quality Improvement.
  • Work together with team teachers in maintaining children’s safety and well being.
  • Establish and maintains collaborative relationships with parents and families by utilizing a variety of communication tools (HiMama, daily conversations, newsletters, children’s daily charts, etc) while being sensitive to their culture and beliefs.
  • May be responsible for guiding students and volunteers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks in the classroom; ensuring records are accurate and up to date (attendances, cleaning schedules, accident reports, etc)
    Required to attend and participate in centre/organization staff meetings and workshops.

Qualifications and Skills


  • RECE: Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree & member in good standing with the College of ECE
    Experience working with Toddler, Preschool, Kindergarten or School Age children in a childcare setting
    Knowledge of CCEYA, 2014, Early Learning Framework, How Does Learning Happen? and Emergent/Inquiry-based program, an asset.
  • Must have experience with the Toronto Children's Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI)
  • Recent (within 6 months) Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working with children in a child care setting.
  • Experience with HiMama an asset.
  • Physically able to participate in program with children inside and outside the classroom.
  • Sensitive and inclusive to the children and families’ needs.
  • Able to work well within a team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with children, parents, staff and program specialists.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Well-developed problem-solving, conflict resolution skills and good judgement
  • Self-directed with proven commitment to contribute to the team
  • Inclusive and sensitive to the children’s and families’ needs
  • Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom
  • Physically able to participate in program with children inside indoors and outdoors
  • Up-to-date Health assessment, including immunizations
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate
  • Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
