The Financial Compliance team develops, plans and performs a broad range of projects designed to assess independent service providers’ compliance with CLBC’s contractual and reporting requirements and to monitor the operation of internal financial controls.


The Role:

  • Responsible for conducting service provider contract accountability and compliance audits and monitors the operation of CLBC’s internal control over financial reporting.

  • Works collaboratively and proactively within both the Financial Compliance team and the larger Finance Division, applying sound and consistent judgement throughout the duties and accountabilities outlined in the detailed job description.

  • The ideal applicant has superior written and verbal communication skills; is highly analytical and has a proven ability to interact with all levels of management; has exceptional organizational skills, a strong attention to detail, and is able to prioritize assignments; as well as a strong ability to multitask and perform under pressure with strict timelines in a fast paced environment.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline;


  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) and/or MBA or equivalent academic qualifications desirable;


  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification or equivalent would be an asset.

  • Knowledge of auditing frameworks, standards and practices
  • and a minimum of 3 years of closely related work experience, preferably as an auditor or conducting compliance monitoring and testing.
  • Advanced MS Word and Excel skills.

Travel as required within BC. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements of CLBC. Use of own vehicle on expenses. Successful applicants are subject to a Criminal Record Check (Criminal Records Review Act) and are required to provide a clean Driver’s Abstract.


* 6.6% market adjustment payable if in receipt of the requested designation. Annual increments are received to the top of the range, $75,658 currently. Effective February 4, 2018, this salary range increases to $67,083-$76,636.
