The Director is responsible for the consistent achievement of the Centres mission and organizational objectives.

 

We are looking for a director with:

·        Demonstrated child care centre management and supervisory experience.

·        Thorough understanding of child care licensing regulations and accreditation standards

·        Child Development Supervisor certification (formerly Level 3)

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills

·        Superior interpersonal skills

·        Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office

·        Able to work any shift

·        Have own vehicle

·        Current Childcare First Aide certificate with CPR, current Criminal Record Check, and vulnerable sector check

·        Commitment to providing high quality programming for children and a supportive work environment for staff members.

·        A high degree of initiative and dedication.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        The smooth day to day running of the Centre which includes the implementation of all policies and programs related to child care, human resources, finance, equipment and facilities, family and community relations and governance of the Centre.

·        Working with and reporting to the Board of Directors.

·        Establish positive relationships with staff, parents, children, and community members.

·        Facilitates the recruitment, coordinates the selection, hiring and orientation of staff members

·        All administrative duties pertaining to staff, such as payroll, and scheduling

·        Provides supervision, leadership, and support to staff members

·        Consults, supports, and provides guidance to child care workers in evaluating and providing excellent programming.

·        Participation in the daily childcare program as needed.

·        Ensures all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards are met.

·        Manage the finances of the centre efficiently.

·        Maintains operation of the Centre within an approved budget.

·        Spending and the purchase of supplies and services.

·        Oversees and manages all elements of Centre enrollment and ensure the smooth integration of new children and families into the Centre

Assists and Board of Directors in the formation of policies and procedures
