Human Resources Coordinator (0.50 FTE, 18.5 hours per week)

 

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Coordinator provides human resources and administrative support services to the department. The Coordinator supports various human resources functions including the attendance promotion program, recruitment, performance management program, leave management and OH&S. He or she will maintain personnel files, assist with updating personnel policies and procedures and be administrator for the employee performance management system. The Coordinator will maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of all information. The Coordinator will also provide support to special projects and initiatives undertaken by the Human Resources Department.

 

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Human Resources Management or Diploma/Certificate in Office Administration plus three (3) to five (5) years recent, related experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of administrative policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment, tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing and handling information of a confidential or sensitive nature including personnel information.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using a variety of computerized software packages including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Results orientation; takes initiative and assumes ownership of work.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, especially of HR trends, new technology and software.
