The MukiBaum Accessibility Centre is currently looking for new members of our team for our Young @ Heart Program who are eager to make a real, positive impact in the lives of older individuals. The MukiBaum Accessibility Centre practices the belief that through “Providing the Key to Accessing Hidden Ability” we are able to create a change in the lives of the people we serve.

We are looking for a part time independent contractor who is a creative, bright and experienced Music Teacher for older adults who face the challenges of aging and dementia for our Young @ Heart Program. We are a charitable non-profit organization that has a record of pioneering in successfully working with this population.


  • Working alongside team members that provide the people- we- serve various therapeutic interventions. Ideally, you play an instrument (guitar, piano, etc)
  • Additionally, as a part of your role you will also be involved in regularly providing emotional and physical support
  • Adhering to Person Centred approach is central to our philosophy
  • Furthermore, daily writing of reports, and participating in all organized activities including recreation, outdoor education and community outreach are important parts of your job


  • You must be capable of providing humanistic, Person-Centered Multi-Focal Approach support to individuals with complex needs. You should be personable and caring and really genuinely interested to work with elderly individuals
  • You must have a university B.A degree, or a 2/3 years college degree/ diploma in social/developmental services or equivalent
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
  • Required Police Reference Check with Vulnerable People Sector Screening.

Required experience:

  • At least two (2) years’ experience in working directly with elderly individuals
  • At least two (2) references are required
