HUB Cycling is a registered charitable organization that is dedicated to building happier, healthier and more connected communities through getting more people cycling more often.

 

Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Giving Manager will manage HUB Cycling’s fundraising and donor initiatives. This includes the planning and implementation of strategies to solicit donations and steward donors, with the goal of growing monthly donations and major individual donations ($1000+). The Giving Manager will also assist with the coordination of fundraising events like the HUB VIP Donor Reception.

 

Responsibilities:

Donor Relations

  • Cultivate relationships with donors through meaningful interactions.

  • Serve as an active prospect identifier, targeting prospects for personal visits and moving annual donors to the next giving level.

  • Develop strategies to maintain and improve current donor retention levels by targeting current and lapsed donors in CiviCRM.

  • Effectively manage the portfolio of donors on CiviCRM.

  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of donors, colleagues and volunteers.

  • Collaborate closely with other team members and volunteers to ensure a coordinated, donor-centric approach to gift opportunities.

Administration

  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications on publications and other written materials for donation campaigns.

  • Represent staff at Board Fundraising Task Force Meetings.

Fundraising Activities

  • Develop and implement a strategy for increasing major gifts including identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift donors and prospects.

  • Develop and implement a strategy for increasing monthly donations including identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding monthly donors.

  • Develop and lead e-appeals, with a focus on gaining new donors, increasing average gift amounts and growing the number of monthly donors.

  • Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and meet donors and potential prospects on a one-on one basis.

  • Identify segments of the donor population who will be targeted for annual gifts and develop strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward.

  • Set specific annual goals for donations and fundraising initiatives. Regularly assess the effectiveness of strategies.

  • Coordinate recognition for donors.

  • Gain an understanding of varied giving vehicles and the tax aspects of giving vehicles (eg. securities, property, bequests).

  • Provide other fundraising support, like grant writing, when needed.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Commitment to the vision, mission, and values of HUB Cycling.

  • Networking, effective communications and personal relationship building are keys to success in this

    position.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers and staff.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Full knowledge of current fundraising practices, procedures and standards.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of team.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Code of Conduct.

  • Ability to work outside regular work hours, if required.

  • 3 + years of relevant work experience in the not-for-profit sector, combined with a university degree, or related college program.

  • Competency with computer software including database management, gmail and google drive.

 

Position Details:

This is a 24 hour/week position and HUB offers a very friendly and flexible work environment. Pay rate $22- $25/hour commensurate with skills and experience. Employee must have access to their own cell phone for work purposes. A competitive medical and dental benefits package is included.
