General Description:

 

This position plays a central role in the development of the website, processes rewards, social media, marketing and promotion for the AgedOut website. This role also supports youth engagement activities as needed. Your well-developed organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail and superior communication skills will allow you to juggle a variety of responsibilities, while assisting the project lead to ensure our website is the best information warehouse for youth transitioning from care and continues to see an increase in users. You have knowledge of the issues facing youth as they transition from government care. You are web-savvy, as well as being comfortable working with a database. You are a self-starter, keen to take on new responsibilities and willing to be creative in finding solutions for staff and clients alike.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Administration

Maintain info email logs and use information to enhance resources on website
Respond to info emails and all inquiries
Update project manuals – style guide, how to information sheets, operations manual
Maintain inventory of promotional items (post cards, POS, gifts)
Support project lead as required
Monitor and update strategic and tactical plans
Assist with report writing

 

Marketing and Promotion

In collaboration with the AFABC communications team, create marketing materials and provide updated information on AgedOut.com for the various websites, magazines and other social media channels
Seek alternative ways to reach users aged 15 to 24 and specific user groups
Coordinate requests for promotional items
Create a monthly online newsletter, post frequently on social media and manage marketing materials for the website
Implement marketing plan strategies; analyze marketing plan effectiveness and make recommendations for changes  

 

Website

Assist in planning and implementing website changes
Conduct research in best practices for website and community development
Assist with reporting requirements as needed

 

Rewards

Coordinate website rewards system and ensure process is effective and efficient
Maintain detailed rewards database
Manage retail outlets for rewards
Distribute rewards to users as required


Youth Engagement

Assist with youth engagement activities as required
Handle all food, venue and logistics required for community consultations
Assist with reporting and capturing feedback and input from community consultations
Develop online surveys to capture feedback on website changes

 

Educational/Professional Requirements:

 

A diploma or equivalent experience in marketing or business administration with an emphasis on social media
3+ years of experience in areas of marketing, administration and management via websites and databases

 

Experience/Skill Requirements:

 

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications especially Excel database functions
Some experience with website development is an asset
Efficient, attention to detail
Responsible, organized, ability to work independently, and as part of the AFABC/AgedOut teams
Ability to set priorities and multi-task
Facility and comfort with learning and using new technologies and systems
Able to handle urgent, immediate requests
Knowledge of promotion and marketing strategies
Recognizes the impact of one’s own culture on intercultural interactions and adapt to cultural differences. Has a strong understanding of one’s own culture and perspectives whilst able to accept cultural diversity and the multitude of approaches and range of ideas available. Applies learning in a manner that is respectful of and appropriate for the culture in question

Knowledge of foster care and adoption is an asset
