East Metro Youth Services, Toronto Lead Agency and a fully accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre serving adolescents and their families in East Toronto for over 40 years, is inviting applications for the following full time, permanent position:

 

INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY THERAPIST Priority Access for Schools Program (PAS)

 

The candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing intensive evidenced based services to adolescents and their families with a variety of mental health problems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic support to youth and their families.
  • Be vigilant in maintaining all administrative duties related to their caseload.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and schools in the community.
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Work three evenings per week.
  • Work shifts in our ‘what’s up’ walk-in clinic.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or equivalent;
  • Membership in the appropriate professional regulatory body for practitioners in clinical therapy;
  • Minimum of 3 year’s direct service experience, preferably within children’s mental health;
  • Familiarity with a range of evidence based treatment modalities;
  • Competency in verbal and written communication as well as computer literacy;
  • Clear understanding of and commitment to a harm reduction approach;
  • Clear understanding of and commitment to supporting diverse communities and cultures;
  • Preferred candidates will be bilingual in both official languages;
  • Competency in multiple languages is an asset;
  • Access to a vehicle is an asset but must have access to transportation within the GTA; and,
  • Vulnerable Police check will be required prior to commencing position.
