Job Profile:


As a member of the leadership team, the Manager of Quality Improvement provides the expertise, tools, and means to promote continuous quality improvement at CMHA. This involves designing and managing processes and activities throughout the organization on an on-going basis to achieve excellence. The Manager will lead the accreditation process, provide coaching to CMHA staff in continuous quality improvement, engage clients/families, staff and stakeholders in Continuous Quality Improvement, and lead organizational level QI projects.


In addition to compliance with all organizational policies and procedures, the Manager will behave ethically, demonstrate competence in effective communication and team building, demonstrate effectiveness in working in a collaborative environment, and demonstrate confidence in decision-making and in building relationships.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in health administration, risk management or related discipline
  • Continuing education courses in quality improvement
  • Lean training is an asset
  • Five years or more experience related to quality improvement
  • Experience facilitating the accreditation process
  • Extensive knowledge of the accreditation process; preferably with Accreditation Canada
  • Thorough knowledge of the health care agenda in Ontario
  • Extensive knowledge of the issues, concepts and practices related to quality improvement and mental health
  • Understanding of mental health recovery
  • Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and executive skills
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • General project management skills (with or without formal PMP designation)
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • A second language (Cantonese, Farsi, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Punjabi, Russian, Tamil, Urdu) reflecting the local community is an asset.
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license, a minimum $1,000,000 third party liability insurance
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check)

This position reports to and is supervised by the Director of Services, Innovation and Quality.
