The Program
WJS Canada is a private, national social service agency that provides community-based services to children and families, persons with developmental disabilities and young offenders. Our team of over 600 support workers, social workers & behavioral therapists located in Alberta, BC & Ontario, work with with individuals, families and groups to foster positive life changes, build skills and the confidence/resiliency to face or overcome life's challenges.

The Position
Located at the downtown Edmonton Regional Office of this nationwide, accredited social services agency, the Senior Administrative Coordinator will assist the Chief of Client Services with a wide range of management, program and operational issues affecting the organization and its stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as a point of direct administrative contact and liaison with regional offices, programs, individuals, and external constituencies and agencies across AB, BC & ON, on a range of issues.

 

In Your Role You Will
• Utilize knowledge and understanding of underlying operational issues to assist the Chief of Client Services with problem solving, planning/developing proposals, projects, and programs, and executing organizational and/or strategic goals and objectives.
• Research information, compile statistics, select relevant data from a variety of sources and compute various data in the preparation of special and/or one-time report summaries or inquiries.
• Gather, investigate and analyze specific issues relating to agency operations; independently develop and prepare non-routine reports and correspondence, which may be highly sensitive and confidential in nature.
• May serve on and/or support a variety of internal and external committees committees including but not limited to Administrative Support Committees.
• Prepare and monitor WJS calendar, as well as, meeting materials, agendas and reports.
• Oversee specified operational programs initiatives and/or special events, as appropriate.
• Gather, compose and edit technical and/or administrative correspondence and documentation; screen and evaluate incoming correspondence and prepare responses as appropriate.
• Coordinate the production of internal, external documents and reports as it pertains to WJS program operations. Perform summary analyses for performance improvement.
• Compile, consolidate, format, and summarize information, graphs, and presentations and/or reports.
• Maintain marketing library by checking and replenishing inventory.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
• 3 to 5 years experience directly related to the above noted specified duties and responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related business, administrative, liberal arts or social sciences or other discipline.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.

• Knowledge of communications, marketing and public relations techniques.
• Able to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects.
• Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and governmental processes, procedures, protocols, and conventions.
• Ability to plan and implement short and long term goals.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment, work effectively both independently and as a member of a team, and adapt to a variety of schedules and working conditions.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports and proposals.
• Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
• Records maintenance and database maintenance skills.
• Skill in use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Oral and written communication skills.
