The Infant Development Program (IDP) works as part of an integrated service system for children and their families.  IDP services are coordinated with those of the Supported Child Development Program, Key Worker Service, and Early Intervention Therapies as part of a constellation of early intervention and family support services to families of infants/young children with developmental delays and disabilities. On a day-to-day basis, you will have access to support and resources from a dynamic team made up of people who work alongside families to implement play-based strategies to help children grow and develop at a pace that is right for them. You will also have the opportunity to be an active participant as we continue to work with one another and the community to develop our innovative, co-located service delivery model. 


  • A 4 year degree from a University or College of recognized standing in a field related to Infant Development (e.g. child and youth care, social work, psychology, early childhood education)
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with and facilitating a process of individual planning and service coordination for families of infants/young children with developmental delays and disabilities
  • High level of understanding and experience with regard to early childhood development and the impact of disability and delay on growth and development
  • Demonstrated understanding of core issues related to lifelong disability/community living and ability to support families in addressing those issues within a family-centred/directed model
  • Demonstrated practical experience in exercising independent judgment and initiative. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal, including record keeping, reporting, presentation and public speaking) and ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Experience working with infants and children with developmental delays within a consulting home visiting model is an asset
