The Position:

Title: Coordinator – Fathers Moving Forward                                         Job Type: Full-time


WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A DAD?  Catholic Family Service is seeking a passionate individual who loves working systemically with Young Fathers up to age 26 to empower them to answer this question for themselves.   This position requires a self-starter who is a mature and energetic individual to be part of a team to deliver co-parenting groups, a dad’s parenting group along with case management, resourcing, counselling and assisting in the successful conclusion of a research project.  It is an exciting program with great opportunity for increasing awareness and access to services for young fathers, their children and partners.  This individual will report to the Supervisor of the Counselling and Social Support Services Team at Catholic Family Service – Louise Dean Centre.


Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate Degree in Social Work/ Psychology is required; equivalency may be considered;
  • Eligible and in good standing with professional governing body;
  • Skilled in group facilitation, engagement, recruitment, case management, counselling and assessment skills with men. These skills will be provided both to individuals and the larger community;
  • Experience and knowledge of working with young adults, especially young fathers and young mothers;
  • Proficient in working in collaborative processes and workplaces;
  • Strong team work; willingness to learn; effective time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings;
  • Experience with collecting, maintaining and compiling evaluation information for reports and research project;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to participate on a variety of committees focused on men’s services, cultural communities and families.
