Pay Level:                          $42,000-$47,000 annual


Scope and Purpose:

CCRW is paving the way to a fully inclusive nation, because we believe that disability should never stand in the way of ambition. Youth the Future (YTF) is a Program aimed at preparing youth with disabilities, ages 15-30, for work experience through classroom essential skills training and on-the-job work experience.



The YTF Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that intakes of groups of young people with disabilities are supported in their goals of finding entry-level work. This involves actively job developing to meet program targets, in both official languages, creating new and maintaining existing relationships with business owners in the community who are open to hiring qualified YTF youth for vacancies in their respective talent pools. The incumbent ensures that interactive group-based workshops meet the employment-related needs of clients referred and/or self-identifying for admission to YTF. The incumbent will design and prepare updated marketing (paper and online), in both official languages, of the program. They work collaboratively with YTF Program Facilitator and Job Developer, ultimately reporting to YTF Manager. The Program Coordinator ensures that program documents and reports are regularly updated and appropriately written. This is a position that requires flexibility and comfort with multiple priorities, teamwork and taking initiative.


General Duties:

The incumbent will:

  • Proactively outreach (in English and in French) to business owners in the community to obtain supportive work experiences for YTF participants, leading to job retention.
    • This involves techniques such as "cold-calling" prospective employers
  • Lead development of appropriate interventions, and/or opportunities for interventions in the areas of life skills, workplace skills, employment, and/or leadership development.
  • Enhance the skills development of participants through the process of identifying, analyzing and prioritizing their needs – ensuring developed curriculum of Interactive group-based workshops are delivered on: Workplace/employment-related skills, life skills, leadership development, etc.
  • Assist the Program Facilitator in focusing on participant individual vocational plan, that will enable participants to acquire job placement opportunities and/or achieve community integration.
  • Develop, support, contribute to and participate in all aspects of the Program design, development and expansion, including outreach and community events. Prepare and perform marketing of the CCRW YTF Program
    • i.e. Social media, events, pamphlets, posters, etc.
  • Perform administrative tasks relating to the delivery of the Program, including the preparation of statistical and other reports required by CCRW and Service Canada.
  • Utilize a community development approach in recruiting from community agencies, professionals and self-referrals for admission to YTF.
  • Conduct screening selection interviews from referred candidates for admission to YTF.
  • Follows the YTF Program delivery and administration protocols for implementation of YTF.
  • Identify and take action on potential advocacy issues within the community as they relate to consumers accessing Programs and services.
  • Performs other duties as may be required and as identified by the YTF Manager.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in French and English
  • A “Go-Getter” - proven track record to achieve or exceed predetermined target results
  • Ability to maintain ongoing relationships with employers and monitor clients at their job shadowing
  • Full “G” licence and reliable access to a vehicle
  • Confident to perform outreach, "cold call"
  • Familiar with the barriers facing persons (youth) with disabilities’ entry to the labour market
  • Proven leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative, organized, innovation and enthusiastic
  • Experience in conducting workshops or presentations
  • Ability to work independently and provide leadership to others
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive proposals and reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite


Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with identifying disability-related barriers and assisting clients to achieve their employment goals.
  • 2 years’ sales/marketing, recruitment and/or job development experience plus
  • Post-Secondary Degree, majoring in a human behavior field
  • Experience in conducting workshops or presentations
