Hours & Days:  Must be able to work all shifts – not necessarily every day of the week.

Shift hours are: 7:30am to 3:30pm, 3pm to 11pm, & 6pm to 10pm & 10:30pm to 8:30am

Shifts are offered Monday to Sunday (Statuary Holidays included)

Salary & Compensation:  $18.09 to $19.97 per hour + 9.6% on each hour worked in lieu of vacation & statutory holiday. Employee paid benefit package.



The Kettle Society supports people with mental illness to lead healthier lives. We do this by: Providing housing, employment, advocacy and support services; Raising awareness of mental health issues and breaking down the stigma and barriers for people with mental illness, and Promoting the inclusion of people living with mental illness in all aspects of society.

Kettle on Burrard has 140 units, located on Burrard Street across from St. Paul’s Hospital. This is a 16- story affordable housing project includes community and commercial space. Easily accessible by transit. We have a team of Security Building Attendants as part of the Environmental Services Team.



Are you interested in being part of an Environmental Services Team that provides security to residents?  Our team is looking to fill casual shifts with an emphasis on over-night coverage as a Security Building Attendant with the flexibility to work Monday to Sunday, weekends and statuary holidays.

Primarily performs security duties at the point of entrance to the building as part of the Environmental Services Team.  Interacts with residents, observes resident behavior, investigates and handles disturbances, deals with tenant emergencies and reports incidents to appropriate staff or authorities.  The Attendant will also perform related administrative functions and record keeping for the department.





  • Completion of Grade 12
  • 1-2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Have valid First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain one
  • Satisfactory criminal record check



  • Ability to monitor security equipment and other related equipment
  • Ability to work with people with mental illness
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform administrative duties
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Must be able to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Must be physically able to carry out the duties of the position
