Administrative Assistant - Calgary

 

 

Parkinson Association of Alberta (PAA) is a registered charity whose mission is to provide education, programs and services, information and advocacy, and to support research for people who are affected by Parkinson disease (PD).

 

Parkinson Association of Alberta is seeking a dynamic Administrative Assistant to fill a part-time position (21 hours per week: Monday, Wednesday & Friday). Reporting to the Financial Administrator and working closely with the Executive Assistant, the Administrative Assistant will assume a number of responsibilities, which contribute to the efficient day-to-day running of the office.

 

MAJOR DUTIES and REPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Reception duties including handling daily phone and electronic mail queries
  • Inputting pertinent information into program database and ensuring data is accurately inputted and kept up-to-date
  • Process credit card transactions
  • Manage and prepares bank deposits for delivery to the bank
  • Generate taxable and non-taxable receipts for all donations and fundraising events
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, guests and the community
  • Compile monthly statistical information upon request
  • Handle other administrative functions as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Grade 12 education or completion of an Office or Business Administration Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years general office experience
  • Detail oriented, organized and demonstrated time management skills
  • Strong data entry skills is essential
  • Experience in @Ease Data System
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft application is essential
  • Related experience in the non-profit sector
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, diplomacy and respect at all times
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently
