Grant Writer

 

We are seeking a creative and capable grant writer on a part time, independent contractor basis. We are located in the Dufferin & Steeles area. We are a charitable non-profit organization that has a record of pioneering in successfully working with a population of children and adults with autism and other complex disabilities and their families.

The Grant Writer will report to and work closely with Dr. Baum, the President & CEO of the organization to develop an overall aspects of grant funding and to prepare documents to support fundraising and communication activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Involvement in all aspects of the grant writing process, including exploration and discovery of grant sources and their deadlines such as cultivation government, corporate and foundation grant donors.
  • Writing grant proposals, submitting them on time and following their outcomes. During grants development, work with the President & CEO to finalize the grant they are working on and preparing for submission.
  • During the exploration and research process to identify potential grants and during the development process of the grant and after its submission the grant writer continues to be responsible to follow up with all potential donors and funders.

 

Qualifications and required education:

  • You must have a university Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, journalism or in other similar fields.
  • You must have a 1 + years of progressive proposals/grant writing. Experience with proven success in writing research papers in University.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Windows, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communicator with excellent writing and editing skills.
