This full-time opportunity is 37.5 hours per week, with benefits, pension plan

and starting salary of $40,195.00 annually




        Reporting to the Store Manager you will  plan and supervise daily processing of donated goods at the designated retail location, to meet production targets required for achievement of established sales targets.




  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Retail Sales.
  • Excellent customer service background, strong inter-personal communication skills and knowledge of working with persons with disabilities.
  • Must be a problem solver who works well without supervision.
  • Knowledge and use of computers and modern sales equipment an asset.
  • Ability to plan and organize work.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, do some bending, climbing and carrying.
  • Experience in thrift retail an asset.
  • Operate a pump cart and forklift.
  • Have or obtain a valid First Aid certificate





  • Over sees production staff.
  • Responsible for production process – maintaining systems and practices and meeting or exceeding production targets
  • Monitors work in process.
  • Co-operates with other supervisors in co-ordinating work flow between departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring sales floor is fully stocked and rotated.
  • Coordinates and monitors salvage and waste flows.
  • Determines and places transportation orders.
  • Maintains production supplies.


Donor Experience

  • Responsible for donor experience.
  • Creates a customer service culture throughout area of responsibility.
  • Solves customer related problems with tact and diplomacy.



  • Trains all new hires in production process and procedures.
  • Instructs new employees on safety rules, proper use of equipment and procedure for reporting accidents. Monitors for compliance with regulations.
  • Monitors staff performance and provides feedback on targets.



  • Enforces policies and procedures.
  • Addresses safety within the department, ensuring it is maintained as a safe working environment for self and staff.
  • Insists on proper safety procedures and use of safety equipment as applicable.
  • Reports unusual illnesses, tardiness and safety violations or accidents to Store Manager.
  • Provides input to Manager regarding progress evaluation reports on employees.




  • Assures security of all goods, tools and equipment in department; reports any missing items, or irregularities by others workers, to Store Manager. Maintains security of merchandise and cash proceeds.
  • Assists in the control of costs through effective use of staff, supplies and utilities.
  • Submits required data on operations to general office.
  • Administers First Aid duties on a rotational basis as assigned in the First Aid Roster to persons who are injured or become ill during working hours;
  • Opens and closes store as needed
  • Assists and supports other store management staff as required;
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.
