Located in heart of Vancouver, BC, Louis Brier Home and Hospital has an exciting opportunity for 2 Clinical Dietitians (1 Regular Part Time, and 1 Casual).


Reporting to the Director, Operations and Food Services, and as a member of the interdisciplinary Care Team, the Clinical Dietitian is responsible for assessing the individual nutritional needs of residents at LBHH and Multi Level Care, providing input to Interdisciplinary Care planning; developing in-service programs for dietary staff, and assisting with the development and implementation of CQI initiatives. The services provided by the Clinical Dietitian are delivered within the framework of an elderly, predominantly Jewish community with diverse ethnic and cultural experiences.




  1. Assesses residents’ nutritional needs by visiting residents, reviewing health records and utilizing other relevant assessment methods.
  2. Completes swallowing assessments with Occupational Therapist as required.
  3. Establishes nutrition care plans in accordance with residents’ needs and physician’s orders, and consulting with nursing staff and residents’ physicians as necessary.
  4. Documents Nutrition Assessments including Care Plans, quarterly reviews and progress notes in computerized system (Point Click Care - PCC).
  5. Revises and updates all diet information and preferences including tray card, table cards, diet summary sheets etc., regarding residents’ meals and nourishments.
  6. Provides nursing and dietary staff with instructions regarding therapeutic diets.
  7. Instructs and advises residents and families as necessary.
  8. Provides input to Interdisciplinary Care planning, through participation in care conferences and Team meetings.
  9. Performs other related duties/responsibilities as required.



Bachelor degree in Dietetics and completion of a Dietitians of Canada recognized internship. Registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia required. Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC). Two (2) years recent related experience as a practicing Registered Dietitian.  Experience in a long-term care/geriatrics environment required.
