Animal loving fundraiser? Come join the dynamic and professional Revenue Development team at the BC SPCA. Our collaborative team of 28 raises more than $27 million annually.

 

We are currently seeking a professional, self-motivated candidate for the position of Officer, Peer to Peer Fundraising.  With peer to peer fundraising and fundraising event experience, the successful candidate will design, implement and analyze programs and communications that engage, recruit, steward and retain peer to peer participants in the Paws for a Cause, National Cupcake Day and Champions for Animals campaigns. This position also serves as lead for the coordination of the BC SPCA’s Lottery for animals in need.

 

To be successful in this role you will use your knowledge of industry trends and best practices to create marketing and fundraiser communications that lead to improved participant recruitment and performance. You will bring strong stewardship skills to the management of the portfolio of top event fundraisers and improve retention. Your superior organizational and data analysis skills will allow you to lead on the Society’s Lottery for animals in need as primary liaison with the lottery service provider. As part of the events team, you will also be a key part of the planning and execution of the Vancouver based Paws for a Cause event and lead volunteers at the Vancouver Offleashed Gala. The Officer should be a self-motivated and highly organized individual who can move projects forward independently while also enjoying the benefits of working on a team to roll out strong fundraising campaigns.

 

Knowledge & Qualifications / Skills Required:

 

  • Post-secondary education in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years fundraising and events experience
  • Excellent customer/donor service solicitation experience required
  • Experience with content and donor relationships management systems
  • Sound knowledge of peer to peer fundraising campaigns and stewardship strategies
  • Sound knowledge of fundraising events
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong ability to write clearly structured and articulated stories
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Strong computer skills - Raiser’s Edge and Luminate Online experience an asset
  • Being a team player is a must, but also must be able to take initiative and work independently
  • Thrives under firm deadlines and stressful situations
  • Some weekend and evening work necessary
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional growth and education
