Hours: Typically office hours 8:30am to 4:30 pm, full time, position is for a minimum of 12 weeks, and no more than 16 weeks.

In Your Role You Will

  • Provide recruitment support as needed including: screening candidates, conducting interviews, performing reference checks and creating and managing job advertisements.
  • Conduct research and assist in the development of the employee handbook.
  • Aid in the preparation and distribution of new hire packages.
  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation sessions.
  • Support HR team with creating and maintaining filing system for employee files and candidate decline packages.
  • Assist with the preparation of training reports and team meeting material.
  • Review and update HR forms to ensure compliance with agency branding techniques.
  • Assist in the development of corporate Human Resource policies.
  • Participate in special projects and assist in the implementation of human resources initiatives within the organization.

 Education and Certifications

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education related to Commerce, Business Administration, Management or a related program with a focus in Human Resources.
  • Must be a full time student and be returning to full-time post-secondary studies in 2017.
  • Preferably 3rd or 4th year students.
  • Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector.

Experience

  • 1+ year of experience in an office related environment and/or combination of education and work experience.
  • Knowledge and interest in Human Resources.
  • Knowledge of office administration and data entry.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Experience with Human Resources Management System (HRMS) is an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong creative thinking skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • High level of integrity, ethics and professionalism; must be able to handle all confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
  • Balancing conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow, ensure the completion of essential projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
