Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Healthy Families Program Manager, is responsible for optimizing the home environment for purpose of enhancing the physical and emotional well-being of children and their families. Assists in the strengthening of parent-child relationships, promotion of healthy childhood growth and development outcomes, and ensuring safe home environments. Services are provided in the home, and are long-term, structured, family-centred and strength-based. Serve as a parent coach giving support and encouragement to parents and their families to help raise healthy children using a developmental parenting perspective and approach. Participate in community outreach and help families’ access services in their communities.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma and three to five years of early childhood experience or Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in social work, early childhood education, human services or related field and one to three years of early childhood experience. Travel required. Knowledge of community resources needed. Excellent written and spoken English language skills. Must be capable of being in families` homes where there may be animals, smoke, dust and other allergy inducing elements. Satisfactory Criminal Record and Child Intervention Check and Driver’s Abstract required, submit prior to employment.
