We are recruiting an experienced, energetic and fun professional to join our team at the DCLS Resource Centre in the part-time position of Residential Services Manager for a one-year contract. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone with a positive attitude who is looking for flexibility and enjoys variety and an active pace.

You will be resourceful and demonstrate excellent leadership and problem solving skills. The Residential Services Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with managers and direct reports.

 

Role Mandate               

The mandate of the role of the Residential Services Manager is to oversee and direct Staffed Residential Services efficiently and effectively by utilizing the resources of DCLS to ensure the provision of quality to the individuals who this portfolio serves. This Manager’s role is intrinsic in shaping DCLS’ culture through the delivery of concepts of person centred approaches and personal life planning and ensuring that this new learning is applied. The organization depends on this role to ensure that all Staffed Residences and Supported Living services and are in compliance with Society policy and procedures, Licensing, Accreditation and Industry Best Practice and Standards.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Manages the performance of direct reports through providing development opportunities, feedback, and mentoring and addressing performance issues.   Direct Inspection at all staffed residential sites required.  
  • Manage resources and deliver on key reporting requirements for all that Staffed Residential and Supported Living Services are accountable for (includes Industry, Licensing and Accreditation Standards).  
  • Provide strategic input and implement operational initiatives to improve organizational performance and capacity.
  • Maintain and monitor expenditures, payroll, budgets, and staffing schedules for all respective programs and services.
  • Ensure all complaints, critical incidents and crises are resolved in a manner that respects both stakeholders and the organization.

 

Experience & Abilities

  • 2 to 4 years of related experience in a fast-paced environment;
  • Progressive supervisory / management experience;
  • Knowledge of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, Adult Care Regulation;
  • Knowledge of working with developmental disabilities/non-profits preferred;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills;
  • High level of initiative;
  • Excellent computer knowledge and ability.

Required:

  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Access to a vehicle
  • First Aid and Mandt Certification
  • Clear criminal record (processed in-house)
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  •  

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or health discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Compensation:

  • This is a part-time position; 20-21 hours per week, over a three day or five day work week.
  • Salary commensurate with experience. This position is a temporary, one-year contract, with a possibility of extension upon agreement by both parties.
