The Position


Under the direction of the IS Manager, the Salesforce Data Analyst is responsible for analysing data from multiple services, ensuring data quality and assisting in the design and creation of appropriate reporting and dashboarding.  


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collectively with the Salesforce Developer and Salesforce administrator to ensure cohesiveness of processes
  • Partner with all teams to deliver data insights, identify opportunities for improvement, make suggestions for improvement and answer business questions
  • Create and maintain technical documentation explaining data processes
  • Assist with the continued improvement of multiple databases
  • Develop and maintain scripts and queries to import, manipulate, clean, transform data from diverse sources
  • Perform quality assurance on generated results to ensure accuracy and consistency: Assist and/or guide the collection of information
  • Contribute to ongoing assessment of Tides Canada’s data collection methods, evaluation and strategy planning
  • Work with finance to generate reports and develop processes to facilitate reconciliation of systems (Salesforce / Adaptive / NetSuite)
  • Build strong relationships across the organization to share knowledge and learn from others



Other Duties:

  • Ensure appropriate feedback loop between data/user
  • Help develop tools to maintain and monitor data hygiene and integrity across the organization
  • Act as the champion of making more data-driven decisions within the business




  • Diploma or degree in information systems or related field
  • Experience or knowledge with Management Information Systems
  • One to two years in a data analyst role
  • Proven experience with data analysis, data management, data collection, and report writing
  • Database experience required, either web database or local databases such as Microsoft ACCESS
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiar CASL considerations – familiar with it and apply regulations and best practices
  • Data manipulation and deduplication experience
  • Some experience with Financial software administration
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively with multiple teams
  • Prioritization and time management skills to balance competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinker



  • Data Warehouse experience would be an asset
  • Salesforce knowledge an asset
  • Knowledge of APEX an asset
  • Non-profit experience an asset



Salary and Staff Benefits:  Salary of $45,000 to $50,000 dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.
