The MukiBaum Accessibility Centre is seeking a bright, enthusiastic, hardworking Administrative Assistant. We are a non-government funded charity located in the Dufferin & Steeles area. We are looking for a team player that is flexible and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the organization staff, including the Manager and President & CEO.

The Administrative Assistant exercises judgement and independence to provide complex secretarial and administrative support services to senior professional personnel, including: utilizing advanced functions to provide word processing/typing services to facilitate the production of complex documents/materials; ensuring efficient operation of the office; developing, organizing and maintaining electronic and paper information filing/retrieval methods, systems, or formats; performing clerical support functions; performing cross-functional responsibilities, as required; performing other duties, as assigned.


  • Completion of college diploma or university degree, preferably in the Arts & Humanities or Social Sciences.
  • 2+ years working in an office environment in administration
  • Previous on-the-job computer/word processing, database and spreadsheet software experience, experience in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Strong administrative abilities, including ease managing the phone system, updating multiple databases, filing, handling incoming mail, arranging meetings and taking minutes.
  • Experience maintaining social media accounts (including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google +) WordPress websites, and mailing databases (Constant Contact).
  • Experience administrating payroll and benefits.
  • Ability to complete basic financial tasks, including tracking donations and preparing invoices
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop & InDesign).
  • Fundraising, project management or event planning experience
  • Experience processing donations and issuing tax receipts through a donor database
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Very good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with MukiBaum standards
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgement in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to work in an environment which provides treatment and support to people with complex disabilities
  • Additional competences are considered an asset

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
