Recycling Program

Front Drop-Off Attendant/Hino Truck Driver

Full-time 40 Hours/Week

 

POSITION OR TITLE:                   Front Drop-Off Attendant/Hino Truck Driver

REPORTING TO:                          Managers/Directors

GENERAL DUTIES:                       Assist the public with information and/or help as required

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain public drop off area in safe and courteous manner
  • Perform duties in an efficient manner
  • Maintain clean and safe work station
  • Assist in daily cleanup
  • Sort beverage containers covered under deposit legislation
  • Knowledge of plant production- product flow and location
  • Basic knowledge of stewardship programs- can find information in manuals
  • Can assist in making e-waste pallets
  • Help out in any position in the plant as required
  • Operate equipment in a manner consistent with manufacturer’s specifications and Work Safe regulations
  • Attend daily staff/production meetings as required
  • Keep floor space free from product and/or residue
  • Maintain image that front drop off areas is the first step towards good public relations
  • Maintain landscaped area free of debris
  • Sort paint into tub skids for pick up
  • Keep parking lot and loading area clean and free of any debris
  • Report any irregularities and safety concerns to plant supervisor
  • Flag any production concerns to the plant supervisor
  • Be able to work shift-work including weekends and holidays

 

RELEVANT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid driver’s license and driving experience with a Hino truck
  • Must have a satisfactory fitness assessment and be able to work in a dusty environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs./30 kgs.
  • Personable and able to deal with customers
  • Polite even in the face of criticism
  • Good conflict resolution skills

Wage: $14.00/hour
