We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Donor Services Coordinator who is inspired by our cause and wants to use their unique set of skills in an exciting and challenging role in a fast-paced environment. 


As a member of the Donor Services team, you will be responsible for the reconciliation of all transactions processed through the Foundation database against the bank statement. As the Donor Services Coordinator, you will support the team by planning and implementing donation processing strategies and operations, improving systems and processes.  You will also coordinate and delegate workload to all other Donor Services staff and provide advice, guidance, feedback and support to donors and BCCHF staff on database/donation issues.


More specifically, as the Donor Services Coordinator, you will:

  • Reconcile the Foundation database to the bank statement and other databases to maintain a minimal discrepancy.
  • Hold Administrator Rights to RE database and have the capability to change & edit gift information.
  • Participate in the recruitment of casual staff in Donor Services.
  • Coordinate and delegate work to all Donor Services staff as well as participate in performance reviews with Casual staff.
  • Coordinate office volunteer resources and support the development of the volunteer database.
  • Support the delivery of staff training in a variety of areas for all Foundation staff.
  • Coordinate with Philanthropy teams and be the department representative for various events.
  • Have access to the General Ledger system and be able to process journal entries to change accounting entries and transfer funds.
  • Prepare a variety of financial reports for related parties such as the Finance team, audit team, Philanthropy departments and Hospital departments.



As the ideal candidate, you come with a minimum of three years of experience in a fast-paced administrative/accounting environment, complemented by a degree or diploma in Business Administration (or a combination of the equivalent level of education and experience). You possess a core understanding of gift processing procedures and have previous experience in this area.


In addition, you exemplify the following:

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of all gift-processing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of Raisers Edge and/or other database systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in Accounting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work calmly under pressure.        
  • Very strong attention to detail.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for excellence, positive contribution to community and continual improvement.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours on occasion, as needed.
