Development Research Coordinator

 

Position Type:  30 hours per week for 10 or 12 weeks

                           (8 Weeks, Canada Summer Jobs Contract)

                           (Additional 2 to 4 weeks, Caledon Community Services Contract)                             

Anticipated Start Date: June 2018          

Location:                        18 King St. East, Bolton 

Compensation:               $14.00/hour

Agency Overview:

Caledon Community Services (CCS) is a multi-service, community-impact organization and recognized leader in addressing health and care, transportation, employment, training, resettlement, business development and social service needs of individuals and families in the Town of Caledon and surrounding communities. CCS operates an integrated, client focused model of services that provides seamlessness between distinct programs, innovations in service delivery, significant volunteer leadership and myriad multi-sector partnerships and collaborations directed towards community building and meeting the needs of a growing Caledon Community.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

Under the leadership of the Chief Development Officer and/or their designate, the incumbent will:

  • Research funding opportunities within various sectors relevant to CCS via the private sector and charitable foundations;
  • Engage RCT/OCT (Senior and Middle Management Teams) to determine funding opportunities to target;
  • Map list of potential funders, outlining focus areas, criteria, deadlines and contact info;
  • Conduct telephone calling and site visits with potential local funding sources to promote giving opportunities;
  • Identify charitable organization websites whose preferred areas of support align with CCS’ emerging priorities;
  • Develop guidelines for successful grant applications funder by funder using examples if available;
  • Collect and effectively maintain a donor database that supports CCS fundraising on a go-forward basis;
  • Review and report on existing database structure on how it can be optimized to support the pursuit of a wide variety of funding opportunities;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

  • Summary of Qualifications:
  • Study at the post-secondary level in areas such as: Fundraising, Marketing, Business, Data Analytics or related fields;
  • Good research and analytical competencies;
  • Creative thinking;
  • MS Office competencies;
  • Internet and social media savvy;
  • Outgoing personality and comfortable interacting with the public;
  • Solution oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check.

To be eligible for this initiative, individuals must: be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the

employment; have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return

to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person

to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; be

legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and

requirements.
