Retail Operations Customer Service Representative (1 Position)

 

Position Type:  30 hours per week for 8 weeks                 

Anticipated Start Date:  June 2018          

Location:  Evolve Clothing (4 Industrial Rd) & Evolve Lifestyle (109 Industrial Rd.), Bolton

Compensation:  $14.00/hour (minimum wage)

Caledon Community Services (CCS) is a multi-service, community-impact organization and recognized leader in addressing health and care, transportation, employment, training, resettlement, business development and social service needs of individuals and families in the Town of Caledon and surrounding communities. CCS operates an integrated, client focused model of services that provides seamlessness between distinct programs, innovations in service delivery, significant volunteer leadership and myriad multi-sector partnerships and collaborations directed towards community building and meeting the needs of a growing Caledon Community.

 

Summary of Responsibilities: The Customer Service Representative works in a retail/social enterprise setting

that contributes to the generation of revenue in support of various CCS programs and activities. They will

assist in the safe and efficient operation of the stores and in creating a customer friendly environment.

 

Under the leadership of the Manager, Retail Operations (or designate) the incumbent:

  • Will learn customer service skills in a retail environment, develop interpersonal skills through team meetings and training sessions, and gain knowledge and experience of the day to day operations of a retail/social enterprise;
  • Will research, brainstorm, initiate, and execute special summer projects;
  • Serves customers in a friendly and helpful manner, including conducting cash transactions;
  • Assists in receiving, sorting and safely clearing donated articles as required;
  • Assists with the pricing and placing of items appropriately on sales floor;
  • Assists in the orientation of youth and volunteer workers, ensuring they have the required information and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively;
  • Assists in maintaining Store cleanliness and orderliness.

 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Studying at the secondary or post-secondary level;
  • Ability to conduct some heavy lifting of boxes or irregular shaped donations;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database skills, e-mail and internet;
  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.

 

To be eligible for this initiative, individuals must: be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of the

employment; have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return

to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year; be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or

person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and

requirements.
