An opportunity has become available within our Facilities Services team. The Facilities Services team supports all 6 KidsAbility sites; Cambridge Langs, Fergus, Guelph Imperial, Guelph Woodlawn, Kitchener and Waterloo.

Under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, the Courier-Custodian will support the delivery of inter-site mail and materials to all KidsAbility sites, as well as be responsible for the cleanliness of therapy materials and equipment for all sites except Waterloo. The role will primarily liaise with the staff of KidsAbility and KidsAbility School, but may occasionally interact with members of the public.

General Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of mail and materials, including laundry, between all sites
  • General cleaning and disinfection of therapy materials and equipment at all sites but Waterloo
  • Infection prevention and control, particularly when transporting contaminated materials
  • Handling and delivery of highly confidential materials
  • Maintain stock and supplies at all sites, except Waterloo
  • Ability to perform tasks in a safe manner
  • Ensure all required security measures are followed
  • Must maintain own vehicle and keep it in good working order


  • We are seeking motivated, experienced candidates with a Secondary School Diploma who can work with minimal supervision on a variety of tasks
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License with acceptable driver’s abstract
  • Must supply own vehicle which must be large enough to safely transport supplies and equipment,
  • Must have a minimum of $2 million vehicle insurance coverage
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, several times per day
  • Experience and training in the safe handling and storage of cleaning products is essential
  • Knowledge and compliance with WHMIS and basic health and safety regulations are a must
  • Solid record of punctuality and attendance
  • Common sense, maturity, accuracy, friendly, courteous, positive, and customer-service oriented team player
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills working with diverse groups
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
