Renewed Computer Technology (RCT) is a not for profit organization which manages a number of programs, the largest of which is the Computers for Schools program in Ontario. 


We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill the position of Receptionist/Data Input Clerk at our Mississauga office.  The individual will perform administrative duties in support of our Computer for Schools program and our other initiatives, for the Province. The following outlines the role in greater detail:



  • Receives visitors at the front desk by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately to the various departments
  • Maintains security by following procedures, monitoring sign in book and issuing visitor badges.
  • Maintains safe and clean reception area
  • Receives daily mail and packages and forwards to the appropriate department
  • Directs visitors/phone calls by maintaining employee and department directories
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing additional tasks as assigned, such as: taking minutes at meetings, providing event support, taking the lead and managing thank you card distribution, and more!

Client Customer Service

  • Helps clients that require assistance when ordering computers either by phone or email
  • Clarifies and coordinates, where necessary, client details and expected shipping date
  • Provides support to individuals that come to the office with warranty issues.


Order Processing/Fulfillment

  • Creates Order Details for new orders as required
  • Reviews all closed orders to ensure orders are properly closed in SAGE
  • Requests cartage quotes and coordinates with cartage company all orders to be delivered
  • Keeps track of cartage charges in spreadsheet and is responsible for month end cartage reconciliation


Team Support

  • Provides back-up support to Administrators as requested



  • Post Secondary training in customer service
  • Must have knowledge of the Greater Toronto area
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, Access, Outlook
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and proactively problem solve and take initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment


Program requirements:

This position is an ESDC funded program under the Youth Employment Strategy program and has strict qualifying criteria as follows:

  • Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 years
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution or a youth who has completed at least 1 course at a university or other post-secondary institution
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • Must not be previous participants in a HRSDC youth funded program
  • Not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits


Contract term: Approximately 6 - 7 months | Salary: $14.00 per hour (37.5 hour work week)
