Youth Services Program

Permanent Full Time (35 hours per week)
(Including evenings and weekends)

Youth Services is a life-skills program for youth who may have emotional, social, behavioural or mental health issues, and who are involved in the Youth Justice system.



  •  Conducting in person and telephone curfew checks as part of a 2 person team.
  • Supervising young offenders on probation and assisting them in complying with probation conditions.
  • Assisting youth in finding and securing appropriate housing, as well as assisting them with moving and set up of a new home.
  • Working with youth, ages 12-18, who may display one or all of the above mentioned issues.
  • Responsibility for creating and implementing strategies designed to work toward individual client goals such as the development of social and life skills, communication skills, behaviour management skills and increased independence.
  • May carry a small caseload
  • Developing and participating in recreational groups and activities for youth.
  • Responsibility for scheduling, report writing, budgeting, maintaining contact with social workers.
  • Writing non-compliance orders for probation officers.
  • Writing pre sentencing reports for presentation in court.
  • Possibility of testifying in court
  • Occasional lifting may be required.
  • Some weekends and evenings may be included.


Education, Training, and Experience

  •  Bachelor Degree in a related field. Consideration will be given to other related education and experience.

Job Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Direct working experience with target population
  • Current First Aid certificate/Foodsafe
  • Use of reliable vehicle and clean driving record
  • Group facilitation skills an asset
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Integrated case management skills
  • Crisis Line experience is an asset
