The Intercultural Child & Family Centre (ICFC) was founded by immigrant and refugee mothers from the local Eritrean and Ethiopian communities to be responsive to the unique early learning and care needs of their children.  In 2010 the centre was opened with the generous support of the Multicultural Health Brokers.

Since then ICFC has become a non-profit centre; we provide quality care for children from all cultural backgrounds and a haven for refugee, immigrant, aboriginal, and other families who live and work in the inner city.  Welcoming up to 83 children ages 12 months to 12 years, the centre is open from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and provides a nurturing learning environment, nutritious meals, and extended support for families and children in need.

ICFC is accredited and actively involved in integrating concepts from Play, Participation and Possibilities:  An Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework for Alberta. We are honoured to have been named one of 100 Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Centres across Alberta offering our families childcare fees capped at $25/day.
