Marketing Manager/Graphics Specialist

Full-Time Opportunity

Based out of the Newmarket Head Office Location


What we need:  An innovative, creative, goal-oriented individual who:

  • Has a University degree or College diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Graphic Design or in a related field  
  • Has a minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in Marketing, Advertising or a related field
  • Proven experience developing and implementing marketing plans, including objectives, strategies and tactics 
  • Demonstrates Project Management capabilities to track, direct and evaluate various ongoing projects, including assisting the Director with the coordination of staffing/budgetary resources
  • Possesses advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills (including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver)
  • Has knowledge of HTML 5.0 and CSS 2.0
  • Has exceptional Microsoft Office capabilities (especially MS Word, MS Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Has experience with a variety of Social Media platforms, including content curation/development, policy development and risk management
  • Has excellent analytical skills and completes all tasks and projects with the organizational mission, strategy and goals in mind 
  • Has strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate others, develop rapport with coworkers, internal and external stakeholders and resolve conflicts as required
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and competent understanding of writing fundamentals including spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Not for profit experience considered an asset

What will you do: Provide leadership to the Marketing team to enhance the profile of the organization in the community by:

  • Assisting with the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Marketing Strategies (utilizing digital and other communication strategies) to promote Job Skills’ brand as well as individual programs and services
  • Developing content and creative design of marketing and promotional materials (including logos, print and digital components) as well as manipulating graphics for use in various traditional/digital media
  • Overseeing the creation of web content, graphics and multi-media design for organization’s website
  • Assisting with the coordination of the Marketing team to ensure appropriate division of workload, to deliver on objectives and meet project goals
  • Assisting with the Department’s hiring needs through all the facets of the recruiting process
  • Conducting the orientation of new Staff, including explaining job duties, agency and department policies and standards
  • Assisting with conducting annual performance reviews and meeting with Staff to identify professional development goals linked to the Strategic Direction for the upcoming year
  • Managing, partnering and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders (vendors and agencies) and working effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver organizational goals and lead the organization’s strategic direction
  • Assisting with the project coordination of the Marketing Team to ensure appropriate division of workload, delivery on objectives and meeting project goals
  • Utilizing various tools and strategies to track marketing efforts, monitor results and make recommendations for revisions/adjustments as needed
  • Working closely with the Marketing Team to provide guidance and feedback and ensure the Team manages tasks, sets priorities and meets required deadlines
  • Ensuring high quality and standards are met in all marketing and promotional products, as per Job Skills’ policies and funders’ visibility and accessibility guidelines; and assists with the development and monitoring of specific Marketing Policies and Procedures as required
  • Monitoring Marketing Budgets and utilizing creative approaches to meet marketing demands while remaining within budget, especially when funding is limited
  • Providing constant communication and updates on the Department’s Performance to the Director of Communications, including any staffing needs
