POSITIONS:                       Full-Time Coordinator, Rapid Housing & Employment Program

                                            Immediate 12 months contract, with possibility of extension.

                                            Monday to Friday office hours, including one day/week with altered hours                                                          (subject to change).

 

PAY RATE:                          Pay Grade 4 (45,828 per annum)

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Develop, grow and foster inter-business relations with local organizations willing to offer our clients a job.
  • Provide coordination and support between clients, businesses and organizations willing to take part in the Program.
  • Coordinate partners to provide employment related training to clients such as resume development, interview skills, references, networking, and life-skills development and run employment drop-in clinics across all SGH premises.
  • Provide and/or coordinate support for clients with respect to pay stubs, tax information, and understanding employment contracts.
  • Provide support towards resolving any issues or concerns that occur between employers and our clients and advocate pro-actively on behalf of the client whilst supporting the business relationship.
  • Support the monitoring and implementation of ongoing evaluation and draft reports for grant funders
  • Assist management on future planning of RHEP exploring alternative funding avenues.
  • Assist with transportation and accompany clients to appointments.
  • Follow-up with clients in the community, e.g. once housed.
  • Work collaboratively with the RHEP Case Manager and internal staff to achieve grant, housing and employment goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline preferred. Knowledge of case management principles, legislation, tools, and resources related to employment in Ottawa. Knowledge of issues related to homelessness, addictions, mental health and poverty. Strong organizational skills and problem solving ability; effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively; strong written and verbal communication skills.  Bilingualism preferred. Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new software is required. The successful candidate must possess a valid Class G driver’s license and be eligible for insurance.
