This role reports directly to the Director, Information Systems and will support a variety of special projects across the Agency. 


Manager, Special Projects/Business Analyst, Job ID #103

Full Time / 6 Month Contract (Possibility of renewal) / Dufferin & Lawrence


The duties and responsibilities of the person in this role are to:

  • Write, review, and recommend changes to documentation (RFP, business processes, policies, user guides, system documentation and procedures)
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to conduct individual and small group interviews to understand business needs
  • Conduct research using the internet, telephone discussions, and face-to-face meetings to obtain and verify information required for the projects
  • Use research findings to develop workflows, processes, and content for each project and ensure alignment the agency’s objectives and requirements
  • Assist with the development, compliance, documentation, and maintenance for standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training material


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Information Technology; international degrees must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency
  • 1-2 years of experience within the IT/Business fields
  • Knowledge of business analysis and technical writing
  • Ability to clearly communicate with all levels within the organization and collaborate with all stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability
  • Analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, and analyze information with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders with the ability to keep people accountable so projects continue to move forward
  • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously, and cooperatively across an organization
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software; experience with a Customer Relationship Management system like Salesforce
  • New graduates with related work experience welcome to apply



Additionally, our ideal candidate will also have:


  • Experience working as an IT Business Analyst or a related role
  • Experience working in a unionized, non-profit setting, or organizations/businesses focused on providing services to the public, such as healthcare
