Youth Facilitator

Full Time, 35 hours per week

Temporary – July 16, 2018-August 24, 2018


The Youth Facilitator creates, promotes, and delivers workshops to Youth in a variety of subjects.  This position also provides some administrative support including maintaining client files, and organizing program-related field trips.


  • Prepare and design creative ways to reach targeted youth
  • Organize and to facilitate a 6-week group instructional cycle. Instructional components include but are not limited to: English, literacy, math workshops, computer skills, mentorship, life skills, goal setting and team building
  • Design and maintain advertising through print media, posters, displays and brochures
  • To organize and facilitate field trips
  • Assess the needs and suitability of potential participants
  • Ensure all client files are complete with information clearly and precisely documented and all agency confidentiality policies and guidelines are followed
  • Inform participants of the youth services available at ACS and in Abbotsford
  • Transport participants as needed
  • Other task as assigned by supervisor


Records and Certificates:

  • Satisfactory criminal records check
  • Valid BC Driver’s License

Experience and Skill Set:

  • Strong attention to detail – ability to keep accurate records
  • Strong verbal, written, and active listening communication skills
  • Strong computer skills – experience using the Microsoft Office Suite to create and present various program materials, gather online information, comfortable with database software
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Coachable – able to accept directions and feedback
  • Strong facilitation skills – presentations, asking questions, listening, giving clear instructions
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Youth
  • Strong organizational skill set – demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and organize work, and manage time



This position is provided in partnership with HRSD Canada.  Eligible applicants are:

  • A Secondary School Graduate
  • Have been registered with a Post-Secondary Institution as a full-time student and intend to return to school as a full-time student within the coming academic year
  • Between 15 and 30 years of age


  • Some driving required
